Join us for our Eleventh Annual rafting trip on August 11, 2024

We'll escape into Hells Canyon, the deepest river gorge in North America. You'll have the opportunity to truly disconnect from the stress and strain of every day life and venture to a place where time stands still and dreams come alive.

We're thrilled to have Chef/Owner Ben Bettinger from Laurelhurst Market & Big’s Chicken returns to the rafts this year. His delicious and hearty meals will feature products grown and raised in Eastern Oregon and will keep you well fueled for your adventures. Dinners will be accompanied by Oregon wine and of course no river trip is complete without well-stocked coolers of Terminal Gravity beer.

In addition to fabulous food and drink, you'll enjoy three days filled with thrilling Class III & IV whitewater, incredible scenery, wildlife viewing and fishing opportunities as we venture through thirty-two miles of the Canyon. The trip includes:

• Transportation from Joseph, Oregon to and from the river
• All necessary rafting and camping gear, including life jackets, dry bags, spacious tents, and super-thick, comfortable sleeping pads
• Gourmet breakfast, lunch and dinner while we're on the river
• Full-service guides with decades of whitewater rafting experience. They’ll take care of everything and help you have a truly unforgettable adventure

Winding Waters River Expeditions is owned and operated by Joseph, Oregon residents Paul and Penny Arentsen. Paul, Penny and their team of incredible guides, have diverse backgrounds in experiential and traditional education, watershed science, wilderness medicine, natural and cultural history, wilderness therapy, and wilderness ski guiding. Their core principles are safety, fun, education, hospitality, and respect for the land. They are committed to supporting our community by hiring mainly local guides, donating to regional non-profits, and serving locally sourced foods on the river when available.
